A Discovery While Cleaning Out the Storage Room I thought I’d left them all at my parents’ house, but it turns out I brought some of my TTRPG rulebooks to my current place (and I’d completely forgotten about them).

A box of TTRPG rulebooks—the vast majority are Japanese systems, and more than half are indie systems published as doujinshi.

A brief introduction, as I hope GMs all over the world will read this book. Dungeons do not appear out of thin air, nor do monsters; everything has a cause, a history and a story behind it. Enriching these stories can create an emotional impact on players. 🧵

#TTRPG This is one of the best TTRPG technical books I’ve ever read. It made me want to start writing a dungeon straight away, even though I hardly ever run fantasy systems.

The advice "Don't make your first project a overambitious sprawling epic" is good. The problem is that I don't think people can really learn that lesson before they ignore the advice and just do it anyways. Sometimes you have to throw the baby into the pool to teach it how to swim.
