its first move was domestic: to attack Muslims, quell solidarity, dissent, and even courage, intimidate people with endless talk of outlandish next-terrorist-attack scenarios, and tell people to stay home and spy on the neighbors. Civil society got bludgeoned in the name of wartime patriotism.

In the aftermath of 9/11, there was an initial tremendous swell of solidarity, generosity, open-mindedness, and in lower Manhattan decentralized organizing to support the workers at Ground Zero. The Bush Administration's first war was not the Global War on Terror. It was on us.

It charged “the war criminal Netanyahu's government” with deliberately escalating attacks to disrupt understandings reached with mediators over completing implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and called for immediate international action to condemn and halt the attacks and hold Israeli leaders accountable. 📌 The statement in full: “The Zionist regime’s criminal and frenzied bombardment of the Gaza Strip since this morning, which has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 18 citizens and the wiping out of entire families from the civil registry, is a deliberate escalation by the war criminal Netanyahu’s government.
