But because we lacked equipment, we could not reach them.” At the mass funeral for 112 members of the Al-Hasayna and Abu Sharia families, Fares Affana, director of ambulance and emergency services for Civil Defense in northern Gaza, told Drop Site that Israeli attacks had systematically destroyed Gaza’s rescue system, leaving crews unable to save people trapped beneath collapsed homes throughout nearly three years of genocidal war. Civil Defense crews spent 17 days searching the ruins of a flattened residential block in Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood, recovering skeletal remains from beneath the crushed concrete in an intensive operation that concluded this past weekend. “They remained trapped for days until they were killed,” Affana told Drop Site contributor Abdel Qader Sabbah. The massacre was not an isolated crime, but one of hundreds carried out against Palestinian families, many of which have been erased entirely from the civil registry, he added. Members of Netanyahu’s far-right coalition, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, have already rejected the deal and signaled they want to backtrack and continue killings and push for full expulsion of Palestinians, even though Hamas has accepted it. The world’s largest oil company, which earned $22.67 billion in the same period last year, credited higher prices for crude, refined, and chemical products, driven up by the supply crisis the war created. Aramco’s average realized crude price rose to $108.10 a barrel, up from $66.70 a year earlier. Liquids production fell 28%, and, per official Saudi figures, oil activity in the kingdom plunged 24.7% year-on-year, contributing to a 4.8% drop in real GDP for the quarter, as Iran’s closure of Hormuz and the Ansar Allah blockade of Bab al-Mandeb choked exports. Aramco President and CEO Amin Nasser told reporters the July Ansarallah attacks had “no material impact” on the company’s results, operations, or cash flows. He said they had “no significant impact on our capabilities.” His assessment appears to conflict with satellite imagery analyzed by open-source monitors, which showed fire damage and destroyed storage tanks at Aramco’s Jazan refinery, one of the kingdom’s largest, which was shut down for repairs after the attacks. British maritime firm Vanguard Tech said the projectile struck the engine room, causing a blackout, and a fire broke out in the crew’s living quarters. “The crew are fighting the fire and require assistance, while the third engineer is reported missing,” Vanguard said. 🇵🇰 The Pakistani military has imposed a communications blackout as it conducts a violent siege aimed at crushing a movement for electoral reform in Azad Kashmir, the nominally self-governing political territory administered by Pakistan. Local authorities and hospitals have not released an official count of civilians killed. Though Amnesty International estimated that at least 40 people had been killed, residents who spoke to Drop Site said the figure was a significant undercount. Harris Qadeer, editor of the local newspaper Roznama Jeddojehad, told Drop Site that he had documented 89 deaths in Rawalakot and Mirpur as of July 28 through first-hand accounts of funerals and burials, as well as death records maintained by a civil society group leading the protests. “45 people were killed before July 27, and a list of their names was compiled by consulting their family members. An additional 37 people were killed on July 27 and 28,” Qadeer said. He added that paramilitary forces killed another 22 civilians on Monday and 13 more the following day. The region has remained under curfew and a complete internet blackout since June 5, 2026. Food and medicine have been blocked from entering, while grocery stores have been prohibited from opening.
