I was in Japan for a conference, and on one of my free days I took a workshop to refurbish an original Game Boy. It was so much fun I went back the next day and built a Game Boy Advance too. Then I hit a vintage game store and picked up a bunch of games. Best decision. 🥹🎮

Oh, you wanna come over? Cool. Just give me three business days to clean my house until it looks like no one has ever lived here.
It’s a shame that most of you will never experience my wit and whimsy in person
I’ve been to Japan like 7 times but never during the summer. This is a different kind of hot. I was wildly unprepared 😅
vs code pets 1.36.0 is out. feat two raccoons. regular and jimothy.
Maybe I’m just behind but have you typed Jimothy into the Google search bar yet?
Every project starts as “this should take an hour.” I have never once been correct.
One of the best all around humans in our industry or our. An incredible leader who has had to fight way more battles than anyone should. And always sends the ladder back down for others. Celebrate her!

can we take a minute to talk about Ashley & how great she is? there are folks who chase the spotlight & there are those who work to make sure others get opportunities. Ashley is incredible at spotting talent & giving folks the chance to shine. a truly exceptional person I’m proud to call a friend 💜
My birthday was a couple days ago please make a fuss
A family member recently went to a medium hoping to talk to my mom. Missed opportunity to finally get some answers about these fuck-ass haircuts.
Logged in to see my blog post making the rounds again. This time I’ve apparently been declared “not actually neurodivergent,” and the replies are genuinely heinous. Being called an AI tech bro was not on my 2026 bingo card. Anyway, I’m just blocking people and moving on.

I have nearly 28 years of parenting experience and that may sound impressive but that’s because you haven’t witnessed me negotiate bedtime with a five year old
Proud of this one
We heard you. We agree. In light of recent developments in physical media, GitHub is proud to announce that you can now obtain your public repo on CD-ROM. Keep it. Lend it to friends. Pass it on to your children. Your code is physically yours, forever. Until you lose it, let's be real. gh.io/cd
What’s a word or phrase you grew up saying that you didn’t realize was wrong until you were too old? Mine was “Chester drawers.” My Southern mom called it that my entire childhood, so I just accepted that Chester invented drawers. I was in my mid 20s before someone slowly said “chest of drawers.”
It’s fair to disagree. But “has never used these models” is an odd takeaway. I use them every day. The post wasn’t about replacing management with AI. It was about building systems around my own blind spots, which, as a neurodivergent person was something I was doing long before AI.
Ok, after actually reading the blob post, and not just the bluesky post i"m doubling down. The bluesky post was written by someone who has never used these models, but this blog post was written by a flat out incompetent manager who is using it as a crutch instead of attempting self improvement
My job would be significantly easier if I could remember things. Since that doesn’t appear to be happening, I started automating them instead.
Senior director @ashley.dev shares why she calls automations in the GitHub Copilot app an accessibility tool. github.blog/developer-sk...
Spotify Wrapped is gonna be like “you listened to Timothée Chalamet’s Pure Imagination 2,384 times.” There needs to be an appeals process for parents.
Nothing activates my fight or flight response faster than opening a document and immediately seeing two people join to watch me type.
3D printing has fundamentally changed my relationship with impulse control.
If “it really whips the llama’s ass” means something to you, please schedule your colonoscopy.
Got the Oura Ring 5. The 4 was lasting a full week and the MOMENT they announced the 5 it started dying every 23 hours. Twenty-three. Not even a full day. My ring saw the press release and chose death. It's thinner and lighter though so congrats Oura, the psyop worked.
I must be going through something because I’ve been on an absolute comfort food tear lately. Also, I’ve reached the age where pizza is no longer a spontaneous decision. It’s an event. There is prep. There is planning. There is recovery. Anyway, I’m having pizza.
I have a recurring calendar reminder called “eat lunch.” This should tell you everything you need to know about how things are going.
Just crushed three bowls of Reese’s Puffs. I don’t remember eating the second one, so there may have been a brief dissociative episode. Elite cereal, though.
