Printed my first ever dry point etching yesterday. Would like to fiddle around more and add some colour. Overall I loved just being able to sketch it out rather than plan the layers like a Lino. Although tricky seeing what you’re doing on a transparent surface #drypoint #etching #printmaking

Recarved this lady into the rubber lino as I couldn’t get the battleship grey Lino edges clean enough. I also printed three different colour ways behind her. Red, pink and orange. I’m glad I did. . . It’s sometimes worth persevering. . . #linoprint #popart #womaninprint

Here’s my ‘water’ themed print for #printpromotmonday. This was my first reduction Lino print. I learnt a lot about how bloody long layers of ink can take to dry 🫠 I live near the sea in Northern Ireland and this was popular with the sea swimmers. #lino #water #seaswimming #printmaking

Happy to be a part of Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor ( Northern Ireland). Here’s a shot they took of me printing my latest and biggest Lino on one of their lovely old presses. I’ll be exhibiting here at ‘Late Night Art’ Bangor on the last Thursday of this month. #bangor #linoprint #printmaker

Frustratingly I can’t print this without doing a course on the etching press. I’ve inked it up anyway at home just to see how it would look in theory. Going to retrieve Paul’s pasta making machine so I can have a go myself. The process of scratching and cutting was a nice change from Lino.

Today I’m embarking on printing my first Tetra Pak print. Wish me luck…
