Final conference of the summer! ✨ Myself, C. Andonie, J. Petley, E. Glikman, and T. Costa organised a Lorentz Center workshop on the role of obscured AGN in galaxy evolution. It was a really fun and inspiring week, meeting lots of amazing astronomers and learning a lot about dusty AGN! 🌌

@eso.org Fellow in Garching studying active galaxies ✨ Science communicator, music lover www.astrofawcett.com
Another great conference this week at the @royalastrosoc.bsky.social National Astronomy Meeting (#NAM) in Birmingham ✨🐂 I am also honoured to have received the RAS best postdoc poster prize!
Enjoying sunny Ascona ☀️ Learning all about galaxies this week (and talking to galaxy people about dusty quasars)! 🌌
Had a great (busy) week helping to organise the @eso.org AGN Feedback Across all Scales and Time conference ✨ Lots of interesting discussion and familiar faces! Next stop Ascona, to attend The Many Scales of Galaxy Environments conference 🌌
I will be at #EAS2026Lausanne this year on Wednesday 1st July, running the AGN populations in large sky radio surveys session SS13 📡 If you are around on Wednesday, come and say hi!
Looking forward to giving this month's public talk at @eso.org about supermassive black holes ✨ There are still a few tickets left if anyone is in Munich: supernova.eso.org/programme/de...
Excited to get more involved with 4MOST @4most-eu.bsky.social, exploring the first spectra from the AGN survey ✨ Great talk at the all hands meeting by Carolina Andonie
📢 Abstract submission deadline for NAM 2026 is on the 2nd April!
Registration and abstract submission for this year's National Astronomy Meeting in Birmingham is open! ⭐️ There are several AGN sessions, including one I am leading: From horizon to galaxy and beyond: the role of jets, winds and outflows in AGN 💨 Link: forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/Respon...
Amazing first ever paper by @durham.ac.uk PhD student Ciera Sargent, exploring the link between radio spectral slopes and morphology in red and blue quasars Read the paper here: arxiv.org/abs/2603.24739

Visiting the US east coast to attend the AGN & Energy Flows Workshop next week at the @flatironinstitute.org New York! 🗽 I'll also be visiting @princeton.edu, the CfA @harvard.edu, and @columbiauniversity.bsky.social to give seminars - let me know if anyone is around and wants to chat about AGN! ✨
Abstract submission for EAS 2026 is now open! Myself and Emmanuel Bempong-Manful are chairing a session on AGN in large sky radio surveys ✨📡 eas.unige.ch/EAS2026/sess...
Had a great week helping out at the VLT Beyond 2030 conference @eso.org ✨ Also two seminars at ESO and MPA @maxplanck.de 🪐
Great paper on arXiv today by @astro-obs-ncl.bsky.social PhD student Houda Haidar! ✨ Using #JWST data, she finds a strong morphological link between the warm dust, radio, and coronal [SiVI] emission (tracing shocks), implying shocks heating the dust ⚡️ Read the paper here: arxiv.org/abs/2601.02865

Had a great time visiting @unisouthampton.bsky.social, presenting my latest work on outflows in DESI QSOs ✨ Now on to Portsmouth!
That's a wrap on another great #STEMFest in Newcastle! It was a great event, talking to thousands of primary, secondary, and sixth form students about space! 🚀 It's been a busy #WorldSpaceWeek, speaking to students, giving a school talk, and being part of Meet a Scientist with Dynamic Earth 🌎
Looking forward to this tomorrow! I will be discussing my latest work, linking outflows, radio, and dust in DESI QSOs ✨
Our other discussion about galaxies hosting active galactic nuclei will take place at the Geological Society. 🌌✨ Get an online or in-person ticket at: ras.ac.uk/events-and-m...
The @astro-obs-ncl.bsky.social team will be at this year's #stemfest in Newcastle! We'll be exploring invisible light and space with ~3000 students across 3 days! ✨ #rtcnorth
Über 150 internationale Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler diskutieren diese Woche am AIP beim 18. Potsdamer Thinkshop. Der Thinkshop mit dem Titel „The Role of Feedback in Galaxy Formation“ bietet Raum für neue Ideen und interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit. 💫 #astrophysics #galaxy #potsdam
First time visiting @aippotsdam.bsky.social this week presenting a poster on my recent dusty QSO work 🔭
Lots of @newcastleuni.bsky.social representation at @nam25-durham.bsky.social this week! ✨ First up, @astrofawcett.bsky.social talking about evidence for a blow-out phase in dusty QSOs 💨 #NAM2025Durham
Great talk at the @nam25-durham.bsky.social EDI session by @izgarland.bsky.social Favourite (paraphrased) quote on why outreach is important: 'Astronomy is a hobby, disguised as a profession, paid for by the tax payers. I think the least we can do is to make our work accessible to the tax payers.’
If you’re at @nam25-durham.bsky.social this week, check out the North East Astronomy exhibition in TLC39! ✨
