I for one had total confidence in Daniel Edelman and Simon Becher to step up in Marcel Hartel’s absence. #AllforCITY

Made the mistake of engaging on #AllForCITY content over on the other site yesterday. What a hellscape. People are such assholes. Nice reminder why I left. (Still keep the account over there for work reasons - blah.)
For all of my analysis around the work in flipping the roster from Lutz’s vision to Wray’s: it’s really the interim work post-Pfannenstiel firing — Bürki DP extension and EOY roster decisions — that has hamstrung Wray the most this season. It’s either this or buy out the captain, both aren’t great.
Lol, guess I have to wait to keep doing AC tasks this morning.
@neuripsconf.bsky.social We have a meta-review that is adding some small requests beyond what reviewers asked for. We are going to respond to these, but our only option for doing so is via the Confidential Comment, which reviewers won't see.
"As a thank you for your time, we are going to send constant scolding emails to you and your co-authors because your reviews aren't submitted even though the deadline isn't until Friday AoE."
WACV 2027 R1 reviews are underway. Reviewers — thank you for your time. Authors — decisions land Aug 8, then rebuttals through Aug 20. Round 2 window: register Aug 20, submit Aug 27 (AoE). wacv.thecvf.com/Conferences/... #WACV2027 #ComputerVision
The only team not to lose to Spain at the World Cup? Cape Verde.
St. Louis CITY’s favorite thing: getting to look like they’re in the mix without ever actually having to pay. I know this is a cynical take but until one of these actually gets over the line, it’s hard to feel particulary generous to the front office.
A number of MLS teams pursued Hugo Cuypers, including St. Louis City, per sources, but Monterrey gets a deal done. Hugo Cuypers joins up with Diego Rossi, who just signed for Monterrey from the Columbus Crew
Super urgent, I'm desperately trying to find two emergency reviewers for Neurips on a super interesting paper that study how LLM alignements evaluation depends on many different geopolitical factors. Seriously, I've been trying for a week, no one answered.
Oh they're not doing *anything* during the summer transfer window, are they?
One unfortunate thing is I do think this was a legitimately interesting, likeable team, but that narrative didn’t really break through the noise of Trump/corruption and having Pulisic as the face of the team
USMNT: we’re gonna make sure there’s a goal in Trump’s honor, for all of his assistance *monkey’s paw curls*
It’s the Trump curse. Every time he shoves his nose in or attends a game for, a sports team, it messes everything up.
USMNT fans better hope Trump doesn’t show up to any of their matches because that man might actually be a walking curse for every team he shows up to support. Just ask KC football and NY Basketball fans.
Everyone is right re: Balogun. Original call was harsh but probably fine. Lifting it is gross. They also didn’t give Messi a card for worse, Ronaldo had his suspension reversed at the start of the tournament, so this is in line with those decisions. FIFA sucks. This makes for good entertainment.

Vozinha played for AEL Limassol from 2017-2022. Dude lived in Cyprus longer than my Cypriot husband. During that time they had this absolutely incredible jersey. I desperately need one. (The U.S. political tie ins just add to the amazingness.)
The ref should simply let them play until Cape Verde wins
Offsides rule applies to “parts of your body you can score a goal with.” Ain’t nobody scoring a goal with the tips of their hair. Technology has gone too far.

Definitely nothing bad has ever happened after the signing of a Treaty of Versailles, ever.
Trump: "It's signed. I signed it in Versailles. I just signed it."
Incredible performance from Cristiano, shutting down Portugal's entire attack like that. Magnificent.
