Educator & author. Books: Equity-Centered Trauma-Informed Education & Becoming an Everyday Changemaker. Vermont explorer in the #251club. Querying a memoir on grief, healthcare system fuckery, and a spine injury
It is wild to watch the internet comment on this after watching it all go down in my community
They’re calling it the most theater kid story of all time
Safety and comfort are not the same thing. Feeling uncomfortable or unsettled is not the same as being unsafe (although it can feel the same). Self-awareness must include reflection on the difference.

I'm teaching a writing workshop this summer and I challenged myself to come up with an SEL check-in each session that also serves as a wacky writing warmup that encourages a sense of play. They are getting more and more ridiculous and I'm having so much fun with it! Thread below of them so far...
"I know nothing about seven and sixpence." My official go-to response to any 6-7 references going forward in the classroom. Thanks Charles Dickens 🙏

Whoa. This piece is beautifully written and kind of blew my mind on a couple of levels. One of my favorite things I've read about facilitating PD in recent memory. Leading Science PD with Genuine Wonder www.edutopia.org/article/lead...

When teachers are invited to get curious during professional development, they are better able to inspire the same feeling in students.

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.
I think it's kinda funny that after all this right-wing investment into AI to undermine people's trust in photo evidence, now no one believes the photo evidence of Mitch doing well

It's so exciting when you find someone on here you used to follow on Twitter! It's like seeing a long lost friend. (Today this was @librarian.bsky.social for me)
Rewatching Ted Lasso but I think we'll quit after season 2 because I cannot watch that Nate storyline again
Education research friends: tell me about a researcher who writes beautiful scholarly articles. I'm looking for beautiful writing that disrupts the idea that scholarly work is dense and boring and full of jargon. Thank you! (Self recs welcome!) #Edusky
A 41-year-old Maine woman has accused Graham Platner of rape. Her account is corroborated by contemporaneous emails to her therapist, by a boyfriend she confided in about the alleged assault, and by messages she sent to another woman warning her about Platner. www.politico.com/news/2026/07...
Exclusive: Woman who dated Graham Platner says he sexually assaulted her
The Maine Democrat denied the allegations and said, “Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically untrue.”

Something I've found deeply enjoyable about writing memoir is the gulf between what you think you're writing about and what you actually end up writing about. I thought I was writing a book about disability identity and it turns out I was writing a book about my complete inability to ask for help
End of the fiscal year has my inbox so dramatic. ACT NOW BEFORE MIDNIGHT!!!!

"I feel like AI defeats the purpose of this class." I went into this past school year thinking that it might finally be the year where I had no choice but to begin integrating AI into our classroom as a tool and skill. Walking out of this year? Talking with students? I realized I was wrong.
