There's news today out of Willow that I do not want to directly share. You can look it up if you want. Extreme TW, harm to animals. I feel like I should have thoughts but what I have is this absolutely flooring grief.

Trying to remember to share little pieces of joy. Here's Emmy singing her retirement song. The camera makes her nervous so I was trying to keep it relatively hidden by my body. She's still shy but look how far she's come!!!

Understanding this reality is vital. I don't know if I believe a new and better paradigm will exist while I'm alive, but I have hope the reality of this one will become actually clear. The call is not coming from inside the house; the call is and always has been the house.

A while back, @gmtminus7.bsky.social sent us a huge box of medical supplies. We continue to use that stuff and so appreciate it every day! Today's contribution was some needed medical tape to put a bandage on Potato's hip (before the vet wrap)

Potato has incurred a Mysterious Wound (probably an abscess from a sliver or playing-too-hard-bite) so now she is 1. Stuck with the only cone we have left which is hilariously huge 2. So cute 3. Breaking out of the vet care pen and breaking INTO the house to jump on Shawn while they are sleeping

Thank you everyone who has supported @ataokennel.bsky.social over the years. I am very privileged to have been able to enjoy the joy and peace of this race with the dogs over the weekend. There are a lot of devastating world events rights now, and I know how much of a privilege this was. Onward.
