Need to finish Faces by Matthew Farrer. Such a whimsical structure for a short story, very much fitting the harlequins. Reminds me of the Shadowseer in Death's Mercy saying "clarity is a false truth, often obscuring the complexities of reality." Not for everyone, for sure, but appeals greatly to me
tolkien elves had impossibly resilient bodies: their issue was that their mind really Was All That, literal broken heart stuff. love how 40k takes the Mentally Unbalanced™ aspect to 11, making it so that the aeldari can't wield some wraithbone weapons without being mentally compromised in some way.
I so forget my harlequin's Holo-suit gives her +2 stealth, besides +2 defence. I need to get better at my surprise attack game. I'm foaming at the mouth because I can't get stimms and a heart of Vaul yet.

This is not some pervert's dream ninja geisha. This is an annoying mime named after the city of piss.
I wonder if such a tree is inspired by real world attempts to bring a tree from the southern hemisphere to the north, or similar transplants. But beyond that, it is such a cool observation that from them the value is not in the material beauty or value alone, but rather in the abstract beauty.

Is it wrong to feel sad for Invisible Chains' succubus Arzehia Darkfyre? For starters, her name is so cool, but beyond her literally being an actual 40k succubus and beyond good and evil (but beyond evil, as in something that is way worse than evil), she reads as so mentally fragile to me.

Like if it were me, I'd 100% do an Infinite and the Divine type novel based around Eldrad Ulthran fleshing out one of his prior intrigues in an earlier era and then it telescopes forward to the Indomitus Crusade era as he's sitting in his craftworld drinking the Aeldari equivalent of fine booze.

One of the really funny things of the GW 40K fluff is that the Eldar have been especially screwed by it when on paper they should be hella interesting and seemingly easy to do well in an interesting book. Cormorragh as Vegas meets Mos Eisley up to 11 is one thing.
