Tolkien then based the 2nd elf language on Welsh... Welsh people are also descended from ancient Siberians. "Oriental origin of Welsh/Irish" was theorized in JRR's time, the Silmarillion's migration of pointy eared Fantasy Siberians as First Nations of Middle Earth turned out very close to reality!

The findings are revealed by the Welsh geneticist Steve Jones in his book, Y - The Descent Of Man.

His evidence is outlined in the autumn edition of the Welsh language magazine, Y Faner Newydd, by joint editor Emyr Llywelyn.

Mr Llywelyn explains that male chromosomes reveal the Welsh, the Basques, the Irish and Scots Gaelic, as well as a tribe called the Kets in Siberia, are all blood brothers.

He also claims the chromosomes reveal the Welsh were the original inhabitants of Britain and they suffered ethnic cleansing at the hands of the Saxon invaders after the Romans left Britain in the Dark Ages.

According to Steve Jones: "The Asian genetic signature links its bearers not only with the first Americans but, quite unexpectedly, with inhabitants of the western fringe of Europe."

Mr Llywelyn's article shows the Basques are also closely related to the Welsh. He quotes Professor David Goldstein of University College London. "On the Y-chromosome the Celtic population turn out to be statistically indistinguishable from the Basques."

The Basques, he says, are the descendants of the same Palaeolithic hunters from Siberia as the Welsh.

JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion has the Awakening of the Elves roughly where Kazakhstan, Eastern Steppes into Siberia would be This is straight up the peopling of prehistoric Scandinavia by Siberian ancestors of Sami / Fins, JRR Tolkien turns that into Precursor Elves. tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Great_J...

It's taken over a year of on-and-off work, but my scratch build of Metal Gear REX is finally finished!! I'm super happy with it, and proud to have completed a project that felt so intimidating at the start. Excited to figure out what I'm making next!

A cardboard and masking tape assemblage of Metal Gear REX from March 2025My finished REX model. Made of styrene sheets and bits of trash and model kits, it measures roughly 12"x12"x12". It is painted light gray with light green angular camo patterning. A 1.5" high miniature of Revolver Ocelot stands beside it for scale.

An interesting article that raises some promising points about Higashino's works potentially being more accessible short story/novel reading material. His "漢字をひらく" approach is a fascinating concept. I'm tempted to check out some of the Detective Galileo short stories while Suspect X is reprinting.

Higashino Keigo wrote using a technique Japanese calls "opening up" kanji: spelling certain words (e.g., ones that might use rare or non-standard kanji) in hiragana so a page reads faster and lighter. It's a big reason his novels are beloved by people learning to read Japanese.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS" ADDITIONAL Rules for Fantastic Medieval Wargames Campaigns Playable with Paper and Pencil and Miniature Figures

Supplement 11 BLACKMOOR DAVE ARNESON PUBLISHED BY TSR RULES: Characters with a wisdom score of not less than 15. who also have a strength score of not less than 12 and a dexterity score of not less than 15 may elect to become monks. Only humans may become monks. Members of the Order seek both physical and mental superiority in a religious atmosphere. Members of the Order may be of any alignment, although they are usually lawful (75%, 20% being neutral and 5% chaotic). Monks must treat treasure as do paladins. Although they may use absolutely no armor, they may use weapons of any sort whatso-ever, and when using weapons they add a damage bonus of one-half point for each level they have attained up to a maximum of eight additional damage points, ie. an 8th level monk adds 4 damage points when he hits with a weapon, a 10th level adds 5 points, etc. When fighting without any weapons monks gain two great bonuses: 1. any score 25% (5 or better) above the minimum required for a hit has a 75% chance of stunning the opponent for from 3-12 turns and a 25% chance of killing the opponent. 2. damage otherwise done is determined on a special table (see STATISTICS REGARD-ING CLASSES), and monks of higher levels may make multiple attacks during a melee round (see STATISTICS REGARDING CLASSES) for example if a Grand Master (6th level) is fighting without weapon against an opponent whose dexterity is not of the highest or who is not magically aided the monk will attack twice for each attack his opponent is allowed. Monks also have other abilities of specialized nature: Surprise: At 3rd level monks are surprised only on a roll of 1 in 6, at the 5th level only 1 in 8, and at 7th level and above only 1 in 10. Note, however, that extremely silent creatures will double surprise possibilities, i.e. halflings, thieves, bugbears, and undead double possibilities. Opening Locks: Same as a halfling thief.BildKing Boxer (Chinese: Tiān xià dì yī quán, lit. Legitimately did not know that Monks came before Paladins and Bards, kinda curious how they played back then
