Online venue for long work in poetry, prose, translation and, well, everything else. Co-Editors in Chief: Derek Mong & Anne Fisher. Managing Editor: Carson Wirtz. Web Guru: Grayson Adams. Terrestrial home: West Lafayette, Indiana. www.atlengthmag.com

In our new issue the acclaimed cartoonist, @derfbackderf.bsky.social, previews his new book, The Dissidents, before joining Derek for an interview; Henry Israeli & Gentian Çoçoli translate Çoçoli's beautiful poetry; & Adina Polatsek breaks our heart with a story about motherhood & a disgraced rabbi.

At Length is delighted to announce its latest issue, available now on our website! Swing by to read the following: Asya Graf's autobiographical essay, "Revolutionary," Michael Ducak's story, "One True Friend," and an excerpt from Jason Koo’s long poem, “What’s Good?” More on each coming soon!

We hope that this goes without saying, but At Length stands firmly against the “inevitability” of generative AI and the theft—of poems, essays, novels, research, and so much more—upon which large language models are founded. And we've updated our submission guidelines to prohibit such work.

Hey all you translation fans out there! Here's your belated reminder to check out our November issue with Grace Najmulski's translation of Suo Er's lyric prose piece "Coming Around" (神游)- don't miss Grace's interview at the end. And get ready for our January issue, which is coming around soon!

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?" Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."
