Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

I am begging you not to believe gazillionaire baseball owners when they tell you Skubal going to the Dodgers means we need a salary cap. Competitive balance is not the reason they want a salary cap. They just want to spend less, and with more predictability, on total payroll. That is all.

One of these is Will Weathers and one of them is Ryan Warren and I literally defy you to tell me which is which. What if I told you that their names are actually Will Warren and Ryan Weathers. Am I lying then, or now? Would you bet your life on it?
