Farage complains that the entire 'establishment' is against him - completely forgetting that the BBC, possibly THE most influential bastion of the 'establishment' contiues to act like his personal lobbying organisation. Neither Farage or the Beeb are fit for purpose. #UKpolitics #Farage #BBC
Who saw this? Newsnight interrupts live TV to report a Reform source commenting on the Zack Polanski interview then read out a comment from another Reform UK source then read out a message from Farage on social care then a few minutes later the rest of Farage's message again criticising social care

1/ THE COMPANY HE KEEPS Farage wants to run the country. So let's look at the people he's chosen, promoted and defended across three parties — UKIP, the Brexit Party, Reform UK. Convictions, expulsions, resignations. All documented. Long thread, buckle up. 🧵
Farage should get an award for promoting unity in UK politics. Labour, LibDem, Restore & Tory parties have now all confirmed they won't stand at his byelection stunt. I can't remember the last time we had so much agreement in Westminster 😂😂😂😂😂

Britain needs a new socio-economic settlement. The assumptions that shaped the last forty-five years may not survive the challenges of the next twenty-five.

Not really surprising that the Met Police wants to keep Palantir, considering what both organisations are like. I'm disappointed in Sadiq Khan, though. He should know just how discriminatory both Met Police and Palantir are...
😖 Rowing back on the decision to block Palantir from the Met is the wrong move. Palantir should have no place in the UK's digital systems, whether it’s policing, the NHS or defence. We must completely break our dependency on US tech firms, especially a company powering ICE and war crimes in Gaza.
For forty-five years British politics has largely consisted of redecorating Maggie Thatcher's house. Is that still good enough? Was it ever?

@alfdubs.bsky.social remains one of the staunchest defendants of refugee rights. He is, as usual, absolutely correct here. I won't hold my breath, but Burnham should absolutely rip up Starmer and Mahmood's entire legacy of hostile immigration and asylum policies. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
Let's hope that the media & press, as well as the general public finally see #Farage for exactly what he is: A lying conman who avoids confrontation & scrutiny. A man & his #FarRight party that simply cannot be trusted. #Reform
On the 10th anniversary of Brexit TimesRadio's Rosie Wright asks Nigel Farage about his £5 million gift He ignores her, hops into a car, and is driven off
Agreed. Burnham's "forty years" comment is interesting, and #UKpolitics definitely needs a new socio-economic settlement suitable for 21st century. But forging that settlement is an ever more difficult challenge.
Agree with this. 👇 We need a PM who's prepared to break the mould of #neoliberalism & #capitalism, that has blighted us for nearly 50 yrs. IMHO, #Burnham is NOT that man. He's just another establishment puppet - #Starmer v2. The #GreenParty want to break that mould & bring in fairness & equality.
Thatcher chose her revolution; Burnham may not have that luxury. Burnham says Britain has been heading in the wrong direction for forty years. What does that actually mean?

I see the Tories are still as despicably opportunistic as ever. PIP is not means tested and has no bearing on if someone can or does work. So the “So those that can work, do work” is meaningless claptrap designed simply to perpetuate attacks on disabled people and those who are chronically ill.
Bessant: "Only a satisfactory outcome in negotiations will end the downward spiral." Obviously in US-English "negotiations" have the same meaning as "Economic Blackmail". And "Economic Blackmail" is increasingly the primary doctrine of US foreign policy.
There's much ado about Blair's little essay. Perhaps it is easiest understood as lobbying for his new paymasters: Fossil Fuel interests, AI billionaires and the Trump circus. But I think Blairism itself is at least partly responsible for the rise of the hard right in the UK. Full article below.

When you hear the absurd claims about how many people turned out for Tommy Ten-Names' rag-tag army today, check this out. This is an arial shot of it. ChatGPT estimates it is: 1–1.5 km long 18–25m wide ≈24,000 m² 2 people/m² = comfortable crowd 3–4 people/m² = tightly packed So maybe 70,000 MAX.
Surely this is way more offensive, way more likely to incite violence, than a slogan decrying genocide and expressing support for Palestine Action? Will anything happen over it? Will anyone be charged with inciting racial hatred - which is its obvious purpose? Don't hold your breath.
