Farage should get an award for promoting unity in UK politics. Labour, LibDem, Restore & Tory parties have now all confirmed they won't stand at his byelection stunt. I can't remember the last time we had so much agreement in Westminster 😂😂😂😂😂

Totally agree. A first step would be to simply tell MPs to watch the language they use when talking about immigration. Words Have Weight. attitudeblog.pagecord.com/the-real-rea... @alfdubs.bsky.social #UKpolitics #antiracist #AsylumUK #refugees

The Real Reason We Need To Get Rid Of 'Illegal Immigrants'. - @attitudeblog

Words Have Weight. If you asked people for two words that sum up the UK's biggest political concern at the moment, an awful lot of them would say "illegal...

@alfdubs.bsky.social remains one of the staunchest defendants of refugee rights. He is, as usual, absolutely correct here. I won't hold my breath, but Burnham should absolutely rip up Starmer and Mahmood's entire legacy of hostile immigration and asylum policies. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Agreed. Burnham's "forty years" comment is interesting, and #UKpolitics definitely needs a new socio-economic settlement suitable for 21st century. But forging that settlement is an ever more difficult challenge.

Agree with this. 👇 We need a PM who's prepared to break the mould of #neoliberalism & #capitalism, that has blighted us for nearly 50 yrs. IMHO, #Burnham is NOT that man. He's just another establishment puppet - #Starmer v2. The #GreenParty want to break that mould & bring in fairness & equality.

Farage "£5m was an unconditional gift" Me "You didn't ask why?" Farage "for my personal security" Me "Security you only needed because of your politics - so should be declared" Farage “reward for campaigning for Brexit for 27 years” Me "So connected to your politics and should be declared" ???

New post on the blog - lamenting "The Strange Death of The Asterix". Hopefully a tad more than just a comment on social media. "The death of the asterisk might seem like a small thing. It's not." ... "When people feel attacked, they don't usually reflect or reconsider - they defend." Link below 👇

I see the Tories are still as despicably opportunistic as ever. PIP is not means tested and has no bearing on if someone can or does work. So the “So those that can work, do work” is meaningless claptrap designed simply to perpetuate attacks on disabled people and those who are chronically ill.

Copy of a post from Vote Conservative account on Threads. Post reads “Britain's welfare bill is out of control. The next Conservative government will urgently reassess all PIP claims for mild anxiety, depression and ADHD. So those that can work, do work.

Bessant: "Only a satisfactory outcome in negotiations will end the downward spiral." Obviously in US-English "negotiations" have the same meaning as "Economic Blackmail". And "Economic Blackmail" is increasingly the primary doctrine of US foreign policy.

There's much ado about Blair's little essay. Perhaps it is easiest understood as lobbying for his new paymasters: Fossil Fuel interests, AI billionaires and the Trump circus. But I think Blairism itself is at least partly responsible for the rise of the hard right in the UK. Full article below.

Image of Tony Blair against a battlefield scene from Iraq. The heading says "The Return of Tony Blair - Still Selling Yesterday's Failures". It refers to Blair's essay criticising Labour strategy and Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham in particular, published by the Tony Blair Institute, May 2026

every time i see a white guy in their fifties radicalized by the twitter algorithm into racism and extremism i think about how it's a total failure of the youtube algorithm to instead radicalize him into home brewing, elaborate A/V setups, or DIY solar

When you hear the absurd claims about how many people turned out for Tommy Ten-Names' rag-tag army today, check this out. This is an arial shot of it. ChatGPT estimates it is: 1–1.5 km long 18–25m wide ≈24,000 m² 2 people/m² = comfortable crowd 3–4 people/m² = tightly packed So maybe 70,000 MAX.

Based on this image of the "Unite The Kingdom" march on Saturday 16th May, an ai estimate of the size of the crowd was:
1–1.5 km long
averaging perhaps 18–25 metres wide
That gives an occupied area of roughly:
A≈1200 m×20 m=24,000 m
2
Dense marches typically run at around:
2 people/m² = comfortable crowd
3–4 people/m² = tightly packed

So:

24,000 m² × 2.5 people/m² ≈ 60,000
24,000 m² × 3 people/m² ≈ 72,000

Surely this is way more offensive, way more likely to incite violence, than a slogan decrying genocide and expressing support for Palestine Action? Will anything happen over it? Will anyone be charged with inciting racial hatred - which is its obvious purpose? Don't hold your breath.
