the thing about indie games is that if someone designs one single game I love, I’ll get whatever they make for the rest of their lives and pretty much always have a good time. people are so attached to ip but imo you really gotta know the creators.

I now have a mailing list for all of my game design announcements. I intend to use it very sparingly. I'll continue to post on Bluesky, of course, but as we all know, these sorts of platforms come & go, and email is the most reliable way to stay in touch over the long term! eepurl.com/9YF-vryui9
My two cents: my issues with LLMs are ethical and environmental. My theory is that there is a future where models are both ethically trained and small enough that 99% of them are run locally off a laptop. For most programming use cases this is possible right now with modest memory resources.

I like Devolver a huge amount, but this quote is just very strange Like, you *chose* to go public. You knew exactly what it would entail, and how much bullshit would come with it. It's strange to put out quotes being pissy about the inevitable outcome

Truth I really need all the gamers to know is that games are made by people, not companies Corpos are working day and night to make them believe that their corporate entity is what makes the game, and they are succeeding! No other industry has such rabid defenders of The Capital like gamedev
game devs: what are the myths that a lot of players of games think are true about making games that are completely untrue? If you could snap your fingers and they suddenly all knew the truth about it what would it be?
