You can learn a lot about an engineer from their laptop.

“use carefully designed, wide events and include the reason in the event” 💯 This is best accomplished by storing operational data denormalized. With large, fast-moving teams, multiple table ownership and design sprawls, and denormalizing on CDC is a pain. No joins on operational reads!
