The most cringey thing about the Trump era is the reluctance of people to plainly say what is wrong with him and by extension , USA. Is this a lack of moral courage or psychological denial? Whichever it is, it is a failure of humanity.
The 1967 Hong Kong riots saw 51 people killed, 15 (inc. a 2-year-old boy and his 8-year-old sister) as a result of home-made bombs planted in various parts of the city by pro-Beijingers. The pro-democracy protests of 2019-20 truly did not approach this level of violence.
