Excited to read this new book about A24 by @awest505.bsky.social of @cinejourneys.bsky.social. Also, this personalized letter that came with the book was a super-special touch. Very sweet, thank you!

Keep an eye on @noplot.bsky.social's bksy account this week, as he's going to be reviewing all of the films in our DEFA Fairy Tales box set! Thanks for the thoughtful consideration, Andrew!
#DEFAcember für die Kinder: As East Germans found out on a strange episode of "English and You", DEFA spelled sideways is "deaf", so it's no surprise that the physical media company that has released the most DEFA films on Blu-ray in North America has been Deaf Crocodile. @deafcrocodile.bsky.social
It’s a big day! Pallet of books arrived this morning and we got our first Amazon review! I expect as more people get the book, there’ll be more feedback. These are review copies and pre-orders that should start shipping soon.
Just posted an AMA about the book. Would love a few visits with questions. www.reddit.com/r/A24/s/20MZ...

Inde Navarrette‘s performance in Obsession has been living rent free in my head. Hoping to see it again theatrically.
I’m really thrilled that Kane Parsons has a platform for this. I’m so impressed with Backrooms. As for his age, we can expect a lot more from him.
"If I could snap my fingers and make generative AI disappear forever, I probably would." this Kane Parsons guy seems like a good egg archive.ph/99FhB
This profile of Backrooms director Kane Parsons, 20, by @kylebuchanan.bsky.social is fascinating. In some ways it's the story of so many filmmaking prodigies (Scorsese)--an indoor kid w/ a physical issue & tech mastery. But his references and politics are pure 2026. www.nytimes.com/2026/05/29/m...

the book is finally going to print. You wouldn’t believe what it took to build this index, which I did 100% manually because I refused to use any AI in this book. This took weeks and cost a lot of sleep, but was totally worth it.
Mungiu is a tremendous filmmaker and deserving of the Palme for his career body of work. I look forward to seeing FJORD.

Can't describe how proud I am to have an audio commentary on this. YOU ARE NOT ME was disgracefully slept on by critics, most of whom entirely missed the fact it's one of the most masterful horror films about the othering of immigrants made this century. This powerhouse is worth a blind buy.
