Walerian Borowczyk's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Miss Osbourne really is one of the great, genuinely transgressive, genuinely nihilistic films of a type you rarely see any more. I realize this is really basic, but I just love how flms & TV shows documentary records of people and places that existed, on top of other aspects of interest, even if it's a work of fiction. Jimmy Cagney, among other people, is still alive to me, because of this.
