Once again, there's a reason they won't spell out how we'd go extinct. Are we getting Jurassic Park'd because the AI is reinventing dinosaurs? Are they getting access to the nuclear codes and hypnotizing the president into using them? They are referring to bank/infrastructure hacks and exaggerating.

How would you even answer this? "Completely changed", absolutely. 100%. But was it for the better? How can we even begin to guess what Britain would have been like if it hadn't happened?

I disagree with your fundamental premise. The fact that a machine trained on billions of real conversations online can mimic reasoning does nothing to alter my understanding of self. And you haven't given any argument as to why it should.

I figure that at least some libraries are going to designate the entire library as the children's collection because if there is one thing librarians hate, it's restrictions on what books can be checked out and by whom.
