Those things existed, I wanted them, I showed that I could use them well, I got them. We all needed to pay more attention in kindergarten, I swear.
We found this circa 1920 oak pub stool at a flea market years ago. It gets used as an extra chair, a footstool, an easy place to do haircuts, occasionally a stepstool, and I'm sure a few other things.
Helen Whistberry@whistberry.northsky.social · 3mo agoI still have a few random pieces of cutlery that my parents got when they were first married. When I need a Big Spoon for something in the kitchen, that is what I use, so it's around 70 years old, at least? But it's a very good Big Spoon.

You’re going to get a lot of rejections and agents will ignore your emails and there will be naysayers around every corner and you’ll get 1-star reviews that are attacks instead of reviews. None of that matters. Keep going. Stay focused. Put in the work. Don’t quit. Go write.
Spent so many Friday nights and weekends on a bus as a teenager traveling the state with the band or for competitive speech. Spades only required a deck of cards, paper, and pencil. We were cutthroat but laughed a lot. The core group also cut across all the regular teenage cliques.
