I have a trilogy of personified bits of ego and id in a hard-boiled detective wrapping that are all sitting unedited and unpublished in my repo. So: written? Yes. Published or even edited? No. In all fairness to Editing Nina, these were NaNo/ therapy. They contain a few gems but are mainly *awful*

![I'm momentarily stunned as the last gurney rolls from the massive freight elevator. A series of what look like floor tiles sit directly on stiff mycelia-fiber sheets. On them are pools of magnesium — recently liquefied and then hardened around a sapient's cores, cells, and other bits of wire and ware. My stomach turns despite this frame's genetic mods designed specifically to prevent nausea.
Carolyn's gentle touch at my elbow leaves me blinking. [Want me to call in the day shift?] She sends privately. It's enough to get me moving again, nodding my head almost as much in awe of our head nurse's skill and experience as agreement.
[Good idea.] I return her send and resolve to handle this one myself. Then I open the message to hospital systems and the two paramedics. [Patient 01245 to Trauma Six.] I grab the edge of the gurney and look up at blazing, haunted eyes.
