We failed Forgotten Island, Please don't fail Wildwood. Go see it.
ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social · 7h agoLAIKA’s ‘Wildwood’ is tracking for a domestic opening weekend of just $6M–$10M, Box Office Pro reports. • Estimated budget of $100M • Would mark one of the lowest openings for an animated film in 2026
If this movie fails, it will not be because of the quality of the movie. It'll be because nobody wants to support the merger. I hope people see it, but I'm okay if you don't.

You didn't need 50% of the film industry to make original stories.
ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social · 4d agoDavid Ellison says Skydance will invest in original stories alongside franchises. He named Warner Bros.’ ‘Sinners’ his favorite film of 2025 and said he wants to bring audiences stories they haven’t seen before. “You absolutely will see us tell original stories.”

I hope you take pride in what you’ve built, what you’ve created, and the role you’ve played in shaping an extraordinary history.”
Despite some references to Harry Potter that I genuinely wish weren't there, Lanterns is a show that reminds me that a superhero property can still be about something without having to succumb to the bombastic third act structure. I'm glad this show exists and I can't wait to see Hal and John again.

Just got back from seeing Forgotten Island. That movie was so incredibly good. Beautifully animated, brimming with charm, and sincerely emotional. I was genuinely sobbing by the end. I'm so happy I saw this movie. It was beautifully human. I'll never forget it. GO SEE THIS MOVIE NOW!!!

Please go see this movie. It's DreamWorks best movie of the decade so far and is endlessly creative and heartfelt.
ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social · 2w ago‘Forgotten Island’ has surpassed $20.6M in the global box office against a budget of $80M. It is unfortunately so far one of the worst performing DreamWorks films despite its critical acclaim.

Ray Gunn has officially shot up to my most anticipated movie of 2026. A true blue noir story from Brad Bird sounds like a long time coming. Hate that Skydance is producing it though, but like Swapped before it, I'm going to give it a chance. At least I don't have to pay them to watch it.

Geoff Keighley realizing he has to make a Fire Emblem game a GOTY contender instead of Wolverine.
Resident Evil 2026, a.k.a. The many misadventures of Raccoon City successfully captured not only the world and tone of the games, but also captured the humor and frustration of playing the games. It's the movie fans deserve, even if they're not grateful for it. 9/10

Just finished Marvel's Wolverine. I think it's a solid game. Not great, and definitely not worth $70, but a solid $30-$40 hack and slash game with some solid performances, fun lore bits, decent story and cathartic, but repetitive gameplay. 7/10

One of the biggest highlights of Marvel's Wolverine are the performances. More specifically from Liam McIntyre as Logan/Wolverine. He manages to capture the character's anger and loneliness of Logan while showing me why this version of the character would fit so well in Charles' school as a mentor.

The job lost are not good at all, but the other stuff is.
ToonHive@toonhive.bsky.social · 4w agoParamount’s California exit could cost nearly 58K jobs and $21.2B in annual output. Relocating could cost Paramount $11B–$21B if no deal is reached with CA and 11 other states by Oct. 1. It would also begin owing WB $7M/day if the merger isn’t completed by that date as well.
Why do I have to wait for the sequel? JUST FINISH THE FUCKING STORY!
I feel bad for Korra in the Avatar series. Some of the fanbase hates her, she gets brutally beaten and paralyzed in her own show, and now is branded as a villain in Seven Havens. It sucks that she gets treated like a punching bag, hopefully Seven Havens can convince people to like her again.
