I try really hard to be compassionate to everyone… even people whom I don’t agree with or like at all. But people like her were ok with Trump when they thought his evil would only hurt others. If her daughter wasn’t dead, she wouldn’t care. I can’t feel bad for her. I feel bad for her daughter.

Trump supporters and their apologists are endlessly confused to see relationships they previously enjoyed end, but what other result could entail? The shame of knowing that about you—what you support, what you excuse. The shame of continuing to know you after. Many are unwilling to endure it.
