Gov. Katie Hobbs notches another 88 vetoes (including 59 bills we opposed), bringing her yearly veto total to 151. We're so grateful to have her as a backstop to the flood of inane nonsense, citizen attacks and harmful garbage coming out of this far-right #AZLeg. buff.ly/5iOJC2G

Busy veto pen: Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs nixes 88 bills

Included in those vetoed Friday were bills about banning Sharia Law; lowering the age for driving learners' permits; barring gender-affirming hormone treatments for minors; and many others.

😡 Republicans know that Arizonans are sick of the fraud, waste, & abuse in the ESA voucher & will overwhelmingly pass the Protect Education Act. Their solution? Pushing a devious ballot referral in the dead of the night that aims to VOID the will of AZ voters – using military families as pawns 😡

🚨 An #AZLeg bill criminalizing our First Amendment right to protest is heading to Gov. Hobbs' desk; she's signaled she may sign it. Contact her office at 602-542-4331 or engage@az.gov & ask her to veto this harmful bill. buff.ly/uziAhyx

Critics: Arizona's 'religious interference' bill is a shield for anti-LGBTQ, anti-abortion protests

🚨 “The idea that someone could be subject to a felony because someone is protesting an abortion and they dare to say, ‘Leave me alone, stop harassing me,’ that truly is the definition of a bad bill” Contact your state senator & Gov. Katie Hobbs to ask them to OPPOSE #HB4117

“Protesting against any political thing does not become a religious service because somebody says a prayer in the middle of a protest,” the GOP sponosr said. “That’s not a religious service, that's a political protest.” story via @glorihuh.bsky.social

If your state senator is Brian Fernandez, we hear he especially needs to hear from you on #HB4117. bfernandez@azleg.gov / 602-926-3098

BAD BILL ALERT! AZSenate set to hear #HB4117, the "Don Lemon bill" banning "disturbing a religious service" (even on public streets). This broadly written bill hands street preachers a legal weapon to shut down Pride. Call your state senator TODAY to vote NO: buff.ly/0bUiLFH

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

We’re almost ready to announce more endorsements as part of our largest-ever Democratic primary program — because the pro-democracy movement deserves leaders who are just as committed to defeating fascism as the activists out in the streets.
