So I think I get the thinking here: Tuchel has looked at the success of Arsenal + the move of the PL towards more direct, physical football and how it's performed in Europe. This #England team is built to replicate that: be solid, strong at set plays, nick low-scoring results. It's worth the gamble

1-0. This team is getting worse. I'm going to be frank today: we're poorly coached and poorly motivated here. Gala are stronger, quicker, smarter, more canny, more intense, more energetic. They battered us in the same way Palace did. This is extremely worrying. #LFC #Redsky

We absolutely got worse, in my opinion. I can think of at least 3-4 times where the general opinion was: "that's the worst performance of the season." Slot wouldn't be gone if we weren't quite visibly regressing. "Mitigation" would've saved him. But there was too much regression. #LFC #Redsky

I also get how people felt about the performances, I suffered watching them as well. I don't think we got worse, we just didn't ever really get better. We never really saw our full set fit together and for some at all. I would have been fine with the end of season change, just with more grace.

I'm still not over watching us devour a manager less 3 months into a season following a title win following a preseason of upheaval and tragedy. I'll be ready to get fully behind the new boss as always but I fear for the precedent we have now set if this guy isn't challenging still by November.

I hope he bucks the trend of successful managers at perceived lesser clubs failing at bigger sides. Im also interested to see who he brings in as we will need a lot more depth to play his way
