how long in the year can I keep working outside until it's too coldddd I don't knowwww but I'm gonna stretch it as long as I cannnnn because it's beautiful out here

pleased to see that my HR platform's integration with finance apps is so broken that instead of syncing my 401k balance it synced my accrued PTO hours balance, which is also, coincidentally, wrong

For people hosting media servers like @jellyfin.org from home, how do you make sure streaming doesn't use all your bandwidth? e.g. if I'm streaming a movie, my upload bandwidth is barely able to stream the movie let alone let other people in my home upload stuff do you just have big internet plans?

seeing a lot of "I used <new personal AI bot> to <automate some time-sensitive task>" posts, like booking restaurant reservations as soon as they're available to ensure the person gets a slot. it's definitely going to be less worthwhile once everyone's bots are competing, but it's also so sad??

passed a meaningful "x years of experience in y role" milestone, easily visible on linkedin, and my inbound recruiter email rate has exploded. sort of validating, also sad that there's such a rigid, arbitrary filter on evaluating competence for roles

Wowowow made a mushroom bourguignon, with soft tofu for some protein, and it really hits. I think it's so much easier to get into cooking in the colder months when the oven, and slower cooking, doesn't feel horrible in the kitchen

A top down photo of a bowl with mushroom bourguignon. Mushrooms, pearl onions, carrots, cubes of tofu, and some egg noodles are visible. The bowl sits on a wooden cutting board with remnants of food and a knife on it.A top down view of a pot on a stove, with a stew of mushrooms, onions, and carrots. The broth is brown and there's a single bay leaf.A top down view of a metal bowl with lightly cooked pearl onions and mushrooms, sitting on a stove.A top down view of a pot on a stove, with a brown broth with leeks and garlic and tomato paste. There's a small cast iron pan behind the pot, and a metal container with spices in the background.

any personal finance trackers / budgeting tools / other financial data use cases on atproto yet? portability between providers would be extremely cool for this area because setting up a new tool (e.g. Mint, YNAB, Rocket Money) is cumbersome and personalized. definitely needs permissioned data

another beverage appears on my desk. I sip. I sip from my first beverage. somehow a third beverage appears. I sip from the second to whet my palette. I sip from the third. it's great. I sip from the first again, noticing it's getting low. a snack appears. I take a bite, barely registering the taste

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!! 6+ months of work by SO many people is converging on a fantastic thing for researchers online. We want to democratize access to research infrastructure online, for good, and we've put together an amazing team to make it happen. ❤️

The modern research ecosystem of online tools and communities is controlled by for-profit companies. But we think that researchers should be the priority - not the product. So, we're announcing Aster ID: not-for-profit Atmosphere account hosting for researchers.

feeling extremely grateful to live in NYC after the third text in as many weeks from people I haven't spoken with in years, who are visiting the city and want to say hi
