You know, boolean searches used to be an effective means to find primary sources or at least secondary sources which referenced in a citations page a reliable primary source. I miss research being viable online and not immediately feeding me what Reddit said last. 🤢

Just putting it out there that my friend and frequent collaborator @echoofjustice.bsky.social makes amazing art and I highly recommend checking their stuff out if you want hand made character art that does not use AI in the process. I'd first commissioned them before AI could even steal art.

If you can afford to, have the time, and the inclination, a form of self care I highly recommend is cooking yourself a comfort meal. Something that just takes you to a good place. I did not do that. I made pizza. My comfort meal takes a crock pot and like 8 hours. And is really a winter meal.

Why yes, 30 minutes to midnight during a heat dome is in fact the perfect tine to bake 3 large homemade pizzas so you have leftovers to regeat throughout the weather

I have been burnt out from work and not done much for my creative / fun side other than casual video gaming in months. Work's averaging 55-65 hours a week, lately. I'm putting this out there in a "I want to do more, but I have so little left of me" statement, just to explain why you see less design.

Death had a point with "Humans need fantasy to be human." Or, rather if I am more accurately quoting HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN because in the text Death spoke in all caps without quotes. Sir Terry Pratchett knew what made us most human. I need to tell more stories.

... I might revive the indie ttrpg game I used to run for poops and giggles back in high school and actually trying to mechanize it instead of winging it. It's something I just kind of came up with, but that could be fun.

As expected, the album of The Few and The Cursed is absolutely up Sadie's alley. Totally worth the wait, what a great job done by the musicians and artists. If you have never seen it #TheFewAndTheCursed is an incredible indie comic and has some great dark and gritty lore.

Ever have a moment when you realize you need whimsy? Just, a lot of whimsy? Things have gotten to be a little too much for a lot too long. How do you create whimsy, folks?

Really hoping this gets to 10k. Super excited to see it in print!

Filmed 8 tiktoks today. Lost one to "accidental post cannot cancel" problems because the app is awful and an "Unpost" or "Belay that order ensign" button is not available years into use. Basically, talking about my lack of movement on WIPs because my day job is 60ish hours a week lately.

2 years ago I had posted a tiktok that was about 4 minutes long predicting that with Hasbro doing 5.5e they'd begin making digital only content you bought *and* needed a subscription to continue to access. Some people thought me mad, MAD I TELL YOU! Anyway, that actually happened... so...

So my new board game, codenamee SoME, had 5 pages of notes on it after 24 hours, and I already have ordered components for a playtest kit. I have 2 modes. Nothing for months and half a game designed in 1 day. ...I really am my mother's child.

Well, I just got a great idea for a new board game. ... a 6th project when 1-5 are not published or in print (but 80% are at a playable state) is fine, right?

My spouse is officially an in-print ttrpg author. Shipping materials to send these to backers were ordered and are on the way! Cannot wait to see friends get their copies. So awesome.

Is starting a story post-apocalypse a variation of in medias res or does that depend on whether or not the personification of said apocalypse is treated as much as a character as it is a setting? Look, if I have trouble sleeping, I play with thought experiments. I blame the movie Sneakers.

In retrospect, what did we expect to come out of this planet? We named it after dirt when the rest of the planets were named for the old gods?
