I truly believe boredom in childhood is how most writers were made. Now, we have AI
I feel sorry for people who didn't grow up with true boredom. The kind of rainy day in the 70s or 80s with only black & white films on TV, nothing to do on a hot Saturday, or empty time after a school day boredom. There was self discovery, reading, experimentation, play - and joy - in that boredom.

My writing partner, the illustrious @meproctor.bsky.social, is in town, and we're getting ready to read from the work-in-progress, share insights into our process, and hopefully sell a few books. The event will be held at Shakespeare & Co. at 7:00 on the 4th of August. Missoula, Montana.
Here are some of the songs I've been listening to this summer. It starts with a song Michelle and I love by Glen Hansard, a great musician who passed tragically this week. Our hearts go out to his family.

Not even trying to hide the auto in my new auto-fiction novel. Should really just slap a memoir label on it but want some creative license. Anyway, I've had a fairly interesting life.
Had to have a wee chat today on a drive to Kenmare - hills all sun-shiney, ancient trees which wouldn't crack if a semi head-on'd them flapping their leaves - with my parallel dimension selves about getting their shit together cause it's about time I had a good time.
A friend just told me about a local Brit landlord before the war and how if tenants couldn't pay their rent, they'd take their cows and could only get them back if they sent a young daughter/relation to collect them... Named names and I'll never look at anyone with that family name the same again.
