Sick patients can’t get appointments while some public servants waste doctors’ time dodging the office. Your preference to work from home is NOT more important than someone else’s health. Exploiting an overwhelmed healthcare system for personal convenience is selfish, entitled and disgraceful.

I had the pleasure of attending the launch this morning of Into the Breach, the new book by General (Ret’d) Wayne Eyre, hosted by Dr. Andrew Burtch of the Canadian War Museum. Many thanks to both for kindly signing my copy.

As in previous years, I’m dedicating my digital poppy to my grandfather Pte. Antonio Sanschagrin. He served in the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps during the Second World War. 🇨🇦

Today marks the start of the 2026 National Poppy Campaign. Wearing a poppy is a simple but meaningful way to honour our Veterans and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada. 🇨🇦

A day I’ll always remember. I was at Borden, renewing my military ID. I was having a bite to eat in the Junior Ranks’ Mess when the news broke. Because i was in uniform I was told to go straight home, no stops. For a while afterward, we weren’t allowed to wear our uniforms in public.

On this day in 2014, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed at the National War Memorial. The shooter ran to the Parliament Buildings where he was killed. Sgt-at-Arms Kevin Vickers, his security team and the RCMP earned the Star of Courage and Medal of Bravery. 📸 Guillaume Haché

Corporal Nathan Cirillo standing at attention outdoors, viewed from a three-quarter angle. He has short dark hair, a trimmed beard, and a serious expression, wearing a dark military uniform jacket with epaulets, a white collared shirt and dark tie, sleeve stripes, a triangular shoulder patch, name tag, small pins, and a crown-shaped insignia on his chest. A dark Glengarry-style cap with a small pom-pom top and checkered band sits atop his head. His belt is light-colored with a polished buckle, and the blurred background includes architectural structures and faint figures.

I would’ve preferred a Liberal government, but I’m relieved it ended up as a PQ minority. Quebecers clearly wanted change, but they also put some limits on how much power the PQ would have. A minority government with a strong opposition seems like a good balance. montrealgazette.com/opinion/colu...

Hanes: Quebec elects PQ government — on a tight leash

Voters stopped short of giving Paul St-Pierre Plamondon a strong mandate to hold a referendum. Will he listen to democracy?

Je suis natif du Québec et je vis à Ottawa. Nous sommes liés. Un vote pour le PQ ne concerne pas que le Québec. Sa destination reste l’indépendance. “Pas de référendum pendant Trump” signifie “pas maintenant”
