🇺🇸 The US Marine Parachute Battalion Demolition Squad as of the 1942 T/O. Unlike the US Army, which had 1 Demolition Platoon per Parachute Regiment with 1 section per battalion, the Marines gave a whole platoon to each battalion in theory.

1st Marine Defense Battalion disposition as of Dec 7th, 1941. This battalion was laid out across four Pacific Islands in the lead up to the Attack on Pearl Harbor with about half the unit on Wake Island. One of my favorite all-time units and huge credit again to Marshall Snyder's book. #ORBATBoys

🇺🇸 The U.S. Marine Rifle Platoon's organization as it was reorganized in early/mid-1944. This was the first time the Marine Corps as a whole implemented its longstanding 12-man, 3-fire team structure within squads based on the yeoman work of the Raiders and Paramarines.

I think the Cannon Company was tbd most interesting thing about the US Infantry Regiment in WW2 because the 3 theaters all did it differently

Idea for Kaiserreich (fiction): New York National Guardsman (New England). It uses pre-1917 division designations & assumes state regimental designations are maintained as the US didn't enter in WW1. Anglo-Canadians prop up New England, so he has pouches for Lewis gun pans

First in awhile, but the USMC Airdrome Battalion was a shortlived unit based on the Marine Defense Battalion but without the Coast Artillery Group. Their ultimate mission would be to protect airfields inland and in particular those in the China-Burma Theater before the airfields were overran.

If they want to abandon our allies they should just say it instead of using LinkedIn speak like "rightsize", a corpo euphemism for "layoff 5,000 employees for no real reason other than short-term greed"
