Butterfly transect this morning - the roadside site I walk is so crispy, yellow and dry. Just a few plants in flower. Surprised to get 8 species, most abundant was Common Blue with 5 recorded. @ukbms.bsky.social @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social

Today we were out at Harbury North cutting some sections of meadow & collecting the ‘green hay’ to spread on the Network Rail area. Here are some action shots! With the #BigButterflyCount well underway, keep your eyes open when spotting differences between species 👀 Tiny white dots on the underside of the hindwing mean you've spotted a Gatekeeper - there are none on Meadow Brown!

@warwickshirewt.bsky.social Bubbenhall Meadows today a small white butterfly with a distinctive gis led to a search in he scrub beside the path. Turned out to be one of 2 Wood White #butterflies. The second brood has started in VC38 @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social @savebutterflies.bsky.social

Not only was the "Healthy Living Walk" at #AshlawnCuttingLNR a hit with the RHS Britain in Bloom judges earlier in the week on Tuesday. Our members get to enjoy our wonderful butterfly reserve right next door to Ryton Pools Country Park. This little slice of heaven is peaceful, away from crowds & a place to connect with nature. Find one of our hand made benches tucked away & sit back and enjoy the sounds, sights & ‘feel’ of nature.

A convivial and enthusiastic gathering of 15 came to the guidd walk in search of woodland butterflies in Ryton Wood today. Enjoying @bcwarwickshire.bsky.social Ryton Meadows before moving into the wood. White Amiral,Siver Washed fritillary,Purple Hairstreak and flying Purple Emperor were seen.
