i cant say much as someone who hasn't opened commissions but the way some artists complain about the subject of a client's comm (ex: how "ugly" it is) is...?? esp when you're posting it feels slightly inconsiderate and would make me not want to commission you if you're going to act mean about it
i wish artists can remember that you are allowed to be a variety artist and experiment with your work if youre feeling stagnant or dissatisfied and your audience are not entitled to say that you should stick with one thing only
something will technically taste fine but the disgust radar in my head triggers everytime there is something it percieves as "wrong" (ex: texture) then eating becomes a form of self torture of trying to eat something nice while my brain is afraid and terrified and saying stop
using shapes as a sketch then building the lineart from there and generally not using lineart as a sketch really pushes that if something is off you don't need to fix it in the moment. which makes it so freeing and reminds me not everything is set in stone and not to focus on details just the idea
