My new #Godot project titled #Null-Space begins. Will start by importing the character model and animations from #Mixamo. Then build a claustrophobic map with CSG. Originally tried to use Cyclops Level Builder but decided to begin with as basic as possible.

Every game company CEO thinks AI is the answer to their game development headache, not them laying off all their developers. Proves AI is a scam specifically constructed for people with power and money because they are the only ones who believe AI is more qualified than actual artists and engineers.

This one's still the kicker for me Unreal Nanite? AnimBP? PCG? ControlRig? StateTree? Incredible tech, saved me so much time, I miss it a ton using Godot. Epic sucks! Massively? And I'm still saying this! If GenAI were truly a time savings? You'd have to beat indies off with a stick. And yet,

It's not my first time coding a raycast engine but it seems I,ve forgotten all the previous implementations and have to restart from scratch but it's fine since I was planning a very different kind of implementation anyway.

I'm taking a long nap. When I wake up. I will start a new #Playdate project, one I couldn't imagine doing a few weeks ago but I have changed, times have changed. I don't want to create a game anymore, I want to create an experience.

Fired all the developers, hired an AI guy. Found out AI couldn't replace the workload of hundreds of developers they laid off. So how to solve this problem? Fire more developers tomorrow. I can see the death of consoles arriving very soon.

After playing Elite on the NES, I always say where there's a will, there's a way.

Before Iron Lung and Backdoors; What I want to make is a computer video game. After: what I want to make is an independent, psychological horror digital media experience. I no longer look at #Godot and #Playdate with the same eyes anymore.

Companies are firing everyone with a talent so you can no longer compare AI slop because there is nothing to compare to, and then claim AI makes the best art because art doesn't exist anymore because there is no one to make them.

This is the first time I've seen a company trying so hard to be the most hated company in the world. This is no longer the Don't Be Evil era, this is the How Evil Can I Be era. They are so eager to burn in hell.

They didn't spend their money light lavish lifestyles but create animal sanctuaries to care for unwanted animals in need.

Maybe I will try this. When I have free time, built a small enclosure with bath and seeds outside my window and see if birds will stop by. A simple thing I can give back to nature. My cat would also probably enjoy seeing them thru the window glass as well.

Just built a very simple/small bird bath (because it's crazy hot) and saw my first visitors. Both birds sipped water and splashed their bodies! Fill a shallow container with clean stones, a couple big clean rocks (so critters can walk in/out), put in shady area with rocks and leaves/moss around it.

AI doesn't lower production cost but it makes it easier to steal games so developers have to spend more time to ensure their games are unique, harder to steal or copy, increasing production time and cost. Imagine also having to proof your game is the original not the copy stolen by AI.

Massive counter point to anyone claiming that AI will help the video game market by lowering development time and cost. Add to this the already gargantuan challenge of discovery, the assumingly soon massive increase in the number of games being released daily, and matured demand... it's... bad!
