Sometimes you lie flat, sometimes you dance, and sometimes you let it rot. Baltimore and Maryland Politics. 🏳️‍⚧️

I think I actually had a dream last night where I heckled someone praising Brandon Scott and I stood up and said “he is actually just okay!!!!!!” Baltimore politics get out of my subconscious mind please

one thing we've been concerned about over the last few months is how cis people have begun more regularly expressing that they will not give up the smallest things for trans people. (see also: emma vigeland gianmarco soresi interview 7mo ago where both agreed asking to boycott rowling was Too Much)

every time someone hypes up wes moore we think about how terrible dhs service has gotten over the span of 2 years of very very deep cuts and have to bite our tongue so hard it may fall off.

10 years ago, when cis people & orgs backed trans rights in response to the NC bathroom bill the result was the state reversing course & the governor losing his bid for reelection. We arrived at this moment because ostensible cis allies like this pusillanimously abandoned us after the 2020 election.

What *actually* happens if the Fever, Storm, W, PA or anyone else involved responds strongly? The organizers get what they want and peddle more "intolerant left" BS. Another week of on-court stories being overshadowed. Nobodys mind is changed. Materially, no trans person is better off.

neutral to net negative; but it depends on how one evaluates the outcomes from the baltimore regional transit committee (big transit victory from his time as delegate) and if they believe that advising moore while as he went on his reneging on the redline arc is disqualifying or not.

one of the things we find so offensive about how the baltimore city dot frames projects is that they brazenly lie about alignments to plans. hilton street is recommended to entirely be a separated bike facility in the 2017 plan? nah, just claim only a small third portion is covered by the plan.

screenshot of the map of the 2017 revised bike plan map showing the entirety of hilton street from 40 to frederick ave reccomended to be a seperated facilityscreenshot of the baltmore dot presentation for hilton rd resurfacing work. text to the right reads "hilton street is slated for resurfacing. all bcdot resurfacing projects recieve complete streets treatments per city code. for hilton street, complete streets treatments include additional multimodal upgrades as this corridor alligns with the 2017 seperate bike master plan."

the color coding for the dotted lines on hilton ave is explained on a second slide to be purple for standard traffic calming measures, and green as a section that is part of the seperated bike master plan.

The green portion only covers the subset of hilton ave between n kossult str and baltimore str; less than a third of hilton street between 40 and frederick, which as the previous map showed was all reccomended to be seperated in the 2017 master plan.

one of the things that's deeply troubling about the latest oig report about horrible baltimore city dpw conditions is that last time there were internal documents showing how inhumane dpw leadership was and this time the city is stonewalling on sharing relevant information for the investigation.

The City removed the OIG’s direct access to records, files, and communications on February 6, 2026.
The OIG currently has 13 outstanding subpoenas for correspondence, 9 of which were provided to BCIT
and the Law Department in March 2026. The OIG is unable to directly access and review correspondence
in a timely manner related to investigations, including this serious safety matter.

we are sad to report that despite any of our posting patterns, special interests, or transness, we have been identified by the most polite member of the k-hive as aligning with "homophobes, transphobes, racists, misogynists, nazis." 😔 we understand if you have to do what you must in response.

screenshot of a list membership added by stardusttay.bsky.social, the list is titled "aligns with homophobes, transphobes, racists, misogynists, nazis."

intrusively thinking about how chance the rapper was once asked to not say one of his homophobic lines, did it anyway, and that he still gets to be a part of polite society. queer wrath month should just be every month at this point

just donated. sick of city officials using micromobility success to make themselves look good when they consistently do NOTHING to actually contribute to it's success and their inaction continues to put people like Brandon, Akim Davis and many more in grave danger on a daily basis

filled with incandescent rage that the death on washington st occurred in a section that had been resurfaced within the last year (not to complete streets stds) on top of the decade plus delay on a separated lane, and that noone in baltimore city dot or the mayor's office will be held accountable.

we're going to take more time to meditate but one thing that is astounding about baltimore city dots vision zero action plan is how it is almost entirely disjoint from complete streets and how the toolbox they propose will foster incomplete streets. no part of it makes us believe their top line goal

nonsense quote from the recently announced vision zero action plan. text reads: "Baltimore's Vision Zero goal reflects a clear and unwavering commitment to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries on city streets by 2041."

to grit our teeth and try to explain: when a trans woman tells you she uses she/her pronouns, the correct action is *not* to use they/them pronouns. this is not using gender neutral pronouns as a bat against people, it's considering the pragmatics of how transphobes use they/them instead of she/her

Aaron van Dorn@aaronvandorn.bsky.social · 2mo ago

I think it's very, very bad if the broader queer community is going to decide that the gender-neutral "they/them" is going to be used as a bat against people. That was a hard won battle.

thinking about the overlap between gov wes moore being a scambrained bullshit peddler and also being on the membership list of thiel's dialog secret society. sure wish there was a news media capable of asking questions and drawing inference about this
