Waikato Gardens and its Metropolitan Centre (the 3rd and largest Metro Centre in Waikato) pretty much complete. Yes it is a Transit Oriented Development with lots of transit and pedestrian streets. Now to Pahurehure which will use the Japan urban set #CitiesSkylines2

🎶Slice of Heaven 🎶 Bit of Kiwiana with a Hangi Hangout in the Pahurehure district of Waikato Yes there is paid parking but otherwise the Hangi Hangout can be reached by walking, cycling, or a bus from the Pahurehure Metro Station that runs every 10-15 minutes all day every SINGLE DAY!
What I find interesting about that poll is that the legacy parties are officially below 60%. Over 40% of the country has walked away from them. Not a lot of confidence in the status quo.

The (Japanese) founder of the rail based (self funding if not near self funding) Transit Oriented Development. Something we try to emulate here in New Zealand but have very severe allergic reactions in doing so when NZers find out it is a TRANSIT Oriented Development not a CAR Oriented Development.

Back in the day, when we built stuff, RBNZ gave Govt special accounts so Govt could spend millions building houses etc without selling bonds to investors. RBNZ basically just gave Govt an overdraft. The ghouls hate this shit - where's the rent in RBNZ financing state houses for public use? [Ends]
Now it's using the cash pile to buy foreign currency assets - mostly foreign govt bonds. IE Our Govt is using tens of billions in spare cash to help the US, UK, Japan, Australia etc pay for their infrastructure and wars, rather than building houses and hospitals here. 2/2

Paul Le Comte 🇳🇿🇨🇦📷@paullecomtephoto.nz · 23h agoUnpopular take: Business will NOT take a 10% hit in profits, they will ether drop wages of the few remaining check out staff, or prices will go up 10% across the board. If you check out yourself, that's your decision (I do both), but IMHO it won't go well for the workers/consumers Just a thought
