Came to this realization at my 3rd job lol. Sometimes there are opportunities for new interesting stuff but it’s mostly more of the same shit ive either written for personal projects or previous places ive worked at

The problem is that ~50-80% of some code bases is literally just rote, tedious boilerplate that looks the exact same as every other code base of a similar project type. Like, do I want to hand-code a "forgot your password" flow or just get it over with so I can code the actually interesting parts?

yea the one thing i don't understand about skills is why weren't these just best practices added to docs? yea w/e do some LLM stuff so they're easy to find for agents but i find it annoying i gotta add like 10 different .md files to my repo

Irritating part of the AI ecosystem* is this reflex to create coded vocabulary that builds an unnecessary barrier to entry. MCP? Oh, you mean an API. Skills? Oh, you mean docs. Evals? Reminder that Carney has cut funding for Natural Resources Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Indigenous and Northern Affairs, and Indigenous Services. And he has rolled back climate protections, abandoned emissions targets, and is building more pipelines.
