I work at the intersection of the climate and biodiversity crises, so I especially value actions that support adaptation and mitigation AND conservation, e.g.,: Expanding urban tree canopy, green roofs, rain gardens, etc. to mitigate heat and flooding, sequester carbon, and provide habitat.

Climate pals, what are your favorite examples of actions that simultaneously reduce climate pollution and help us adapt to climate changes that we can no longer avoid? Joint Adaptation and Mitigation (JAM), if you will.

Remember that a human has many intelligences, relational, somatic, emotional, energetic, intuitive, and linguistic. And even amongst the linguistic flavor there are so many ways to use words, including to capture the fruits of the other intelligences.

Thanks for these thoughts. I've been noticing similar. AI dutifully summarized everything that was discussed & decided, but missed nuance, misunderstood what was actually important & unimportant, etc. Like having an extremely bright but overconfident & inexperienced undergrad as an intern.

Totally agree. I’m in the middle of a project where we are seeking alignment with a number of international participants. Teams AI summaries give the illusion of shared perspectives but we are going over and over same old ground. Bring back human wrap ups!

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

Lately I've been experiencing side-effects of the widespread use of "ai assistants" that I haven't heard talked about so much, and I'm curious if others have noticed it - maybe even the phenomenon has been studied or named.

When reality lands our societies will face a choice - to save everyone we can by doing the necessary work that will end the reign of ideas like "economic growth" and "national self-interest" and discover by doing what lies beyond them or to carry on as we are and loose so much more.

HISTORIC RECORD HEAT EVERYWHERE We are gonna live historic days which will be remembered for generations: Thousands of records will be pulverized at the same time in North,South (40C in winter again !) Americas,Asia and Europe. Stay tuned. It will be an absolute insanity.

Folks, I jog on this road a lot and this is first time I've noticed this clearly petrified troll just right there on a gentle curve in the road. Therefore, I believe it is a very recent petrification and further proof that more goes on in the woods at night than most people realize.

Either a tree trunk with some bird nesting cavities or a petrified troll that looks like a tree trunk with some bird nesting cavities.

Multisolving Moments are occasional online community gatherings hosted by Multisolving Institute. We pick a theme or question, have a little reflection from the MI team & spend most of the time in conversation amongst people from all over, sharing what is working & where they are struggling.

In self-organizing systems crisis brings forth new responses. That's what our next Multisolving Moment is about. In this beautiful but fragile world we are all part of self-organizing systems facing crises. What is that bringing forth, what do we need & how can we support one another through it?

learning more about native plants that I can add to my garden, getting more involved with whats going on in the city. None of these were big changes right away but small steps and skills that I built up, when they become habit I will build up more. Your posts are always fantastic reminders <3

every time I get overwhelmed I think about what im doing right now, and what i have done that has changed things for the better. Even changing my diet, swapping things out bit by bit. I've gotten so much better with cooking vegetarian or vegan, stopping shopping certain places or products

Agrivoltaics as fire prevention: “The grazing helps with fire prevention, as the sheep remove 60 to 75% of the carbon on site.” “They remove the litter,” added Mike Ritter, with the state’s Fish and Wildlife Department. “If you mow (vegetation), there’s still stuff remaining that could burn.”
