I chat to these two at every chance I get in ARR and it's always an experience

LRT I'm also concerned if skipping the story becomes an expectation in XIV it'll spoil more people's first-time experiences. I've spoken to several people whose friends refused to play early game content with them and told them to buy skips to catch up, and it just stopped them having fun

To be honest, I don’t care if people wanna skip. That’s their choice, I’m unaffected. What DOES concern me is the notion that if a skip exists, the story will start trying to accommodate those that did. Call me a jerk, but I don’t want the plot to be written for those that didn’t “catch up.”

I really don’t think saying that people who want to skip most, if not all, of the story in a story-focused game will not actually really enjoy FFXIV is a hot take at all, yet people act like you’re some sort of gatekeeping lunatic if you say so.

DC'd just as I was trying to queue for a normal raid and then got an authentication error I'd never seen in my life. Panicked that someone was trying to get into my account. Nope, I somehow opened the game twice and was trying to login to Roscoe and Saran at the time

Doing the THM quests again on Saran and I forgot one of them involves a voidsent using Cocobusi as a vessel 🙃 A lot of ARR stuff hits different when you're playing a voidsent puppeting a vessel masquerading as a WoL

Lore-wise Roscoe will be remaining as his GNB/MCH combo (so practically speaking I'll be playing GNB unless for whatever reason I feel more like playing DPS), but there is a chance if I like Bastion it may become a canon job. Roscoe flinging around two giant gun-shields is a very good mental image

I love that when I receive requests for 'your WoL as a Lightwarden' commission, in the 'tell me about your WoL' section I either receive five paragraphs of backstory or a single sentence, no in between

Thancred every time Roscoe opens his mouth this patch (he was absolutely about to make that quip. He is also older than Thancred)

I didn't manage to get a great screenshot but I really like how 'Ardbert' looks in 5.2 since the graphics update. The lowered eyelids/angles work really well to hide the highlights in his eyes and get across that yes, this is absolutely a puppeted corpse #ShadowbringersSpoilers

5.2 is just the 'Roscoe speedruns pissing Y'shtola off' patch
