Husband to Wilbur, father to Blake and AnnaKeiko, and grandpa to Wyatt, Grant, Charlotte, Jack, Sunny, and Mabel! Urban pioneer of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, 79-84 Painter, pizza maker, and lover of life. GO BE BEAUTIFUL!!

Getting into this painting and a large print from my Corot Studies: Lake Superior series. They’re related to the Corot works, but the spatial movement feels reversed. In these Lake Superior pieces, the horizon feels more like a hinge. The space turns, drops, hangs, and accumulates beneath it.

I started working on this one today as well. Suddenly, some organizational principles were presented to me. I've been staring at it for a long time. The goal is to resolve it while simultaneously retaining the challenges it presented. I have no idea what that means, though. It's a problem.

NEW: Minnesota just hit three straight months of job growth. And as a top state for business, we’re creating jobs that pay well, provide benefits, and offer unmatched worker protections. If you want to work, Minnesota is the place to be.

WHEW! Getting print margins correct—and consistent—is a huge PITA. Anyway, everything is working again, and I made this lovely print—IMHO—of a recent iPad drawing. It is part of my ongoing Corot Studies series and will be available as part of a forthcoming limited-edition portfolio of prints.

Trump's embarrassing rant last night about an election he lost six years ago made two things very clear: 1. He's not focused on making life better for Americans. Not even close. 2. We should act now to counteract any efforts to undermine our elections. www.mobilize.us/indivisible/...

Hands Off Our Vote in 2026! · Indivisible

**We know that Trump and his Big Lie cronies are plotting to do everything they can to undermine our elections in 2026.** Whether it’s trying to end mail-in voting, targeting registration programs, bl...

Corot Study: Creekside, Spearfish, SD Pastel and pencil on gray Stonehenge paper, 22 × 30", 2026. I love disappearing into the work. The anger and frustration are there—but so are joy and love. Maybe painting is where irreconcilable contradictions are allowed to exist together.

In progress, 22x30" In these drawings, I’m trying to translate landscape as behavior rather than description: trees, water, rocks, and shadows as mass, pressure, movement, and interruption. The two crossing shadows are key — interlocking rhythmic forms that hold the drawing together.
