I refuse to believe that people are meant to spend their entire lives surviving systems that keep wounding them faster than they can heal.

Embedding care, wellbeing, & relationality works off the notion that systemic socio-ecological transformations require a diff organizing principle. The current one functions exactly as designed, perpetuating inequalities that limit a person’s (& a community’s) scope to thrive, not just survive.
With the rise in vulnerability and precarity for livelihoods and wellbeing, stronger social protection mechanisms that aren’t static just end-points, but a continuum—as this article posits—can be transformational. Our fieldwork signals the same. Agrarian economy/farmers are already overburdened.

I was shocked when I first saw these results from standard climate models used in IPCC reports: for high emissions, the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC shuts down in all 9 models that ran past 2100, and is well on the way to shutdown by 2100. Our paper on that is out today.🧵
