Yup, Bhattacharya’s travel lockdown—broad travel restrictions & movement controls—can “discourage reporting, drive cases underground, hinder response efforts, disrupt supply chains & make outbreaks harder to contain” Jay’s travel lockdown isn’t based on science. I guess it’s a vibes-based lockdown?

The current #Ebola outbreak in DRC has the potential to be even larger than those in 2018 and 2014. Why have we seen larger outbreaks in recent years? There are multiple reasons including conflict, population movement and urbanization. But the trend shows we must learn how to respond better
