Some CSP assets are really useful and then some are like... itll be faster to draw this by hand than using this very niche specific brush for it lol (Like eyelashes for instance)

and hey if i just kept struggling trying to fit into drawing a type of comic that doesn't suit me, would I have been able to get the opportunity to draw extremely indulgent omegaverse BL manga for a BL magazine? No. so i'm perfectly glad about i'm where i am right now lol

feel like i worded some earlier tweets wrong;; I wanted to make doujinshi (self published comic books/ illustration books) in my own style without feeling uncomfortable and then distribute them in events where i fit in. The events that worked out for me are comitia and jgarden.

it's true that if indie comics fairs didn't keep rejecting my applications and they were easy to get into- maybe I would be active in the indie comics scene instead of moving to Japan? But now that i understand how massive the comic industry here is I would never go back

i think transparency is important because things can’t improve otherwise, and without it we get explosive issues like we’ve seen in the last year or so with hiveworks and silver sprocket. we can make these things better and we can make our own, whether that’s digital fairs or pubs etc

it’s always good to remember that just because you have a great personal or professional relationship with someone doesn’t mean others have not had bad experiences with that person or that they not been unreasonable or unprofessional

hmm regarding online indie comic events... the ones that have restrictions, it's best to make sure you're really OK with those restrictions before getting involved 🤔

Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.
