listening to so many fgc videos lately makes me want to learn fighting games but i think its probably advisable to have only one rsi inducing hobby

Presenting a new illustration by Kuroimori to celebrate FFXIV's launch on the Nintendo Switch™ 2! ✨ A very warm welcome to all the new Warriors of Light starting their journey in Eorzea 🌱❤️
Me: wow it sure is difficult to make time for comics. i'll listen to some random fgc videos to entertain myself while i draw My youtube algo:
it's true that if indie comics fairs didn't keep rejecting my applications and they were easy to get into- maybe I would be active in the indie comics scene instead of moving to Japan? But now that i understand how massive the comic industry here is I would never go back
I think what I mean is like the goal of indie-comics shouldn't *inherently* be to be polished, palatable, and high-brow enough to eventually leave. But I think in the Eng-speaking space that's currently… widely the case. And that's why ppl yearn for zines/doujin and more diverse opportunities.
It's cool for the part of indie comics culture that like wants to see if it can wiggle its way into career comics culture but there needs to be enough support for indie comics culture that wants to stay indie comics culture, too. We need more doujin vibes. More zinester vibes.
I'm sorry for talking so much about this indie comics shit i just get really heated about comics okay. make your comic!! don't wait for someone to tell you it's worth making!
ok nvm puts my hands on the keyboard it doesnt surprise me that talented young NA comic artists increasingly choose to Move To Japan and Learn Japanese and literally leave their whole lives behind to participate in doujinshi culture rather than participate in the indie comics culture we have here.
i think transparency is important because things can’t improve otherwise, and without it we get explosive issues like we’ve seen in the last year or so with hiveworks and silver sprocket. we can make these things better and we can make our own, whether that’s digital fairs or pubs etc
it’s always good to remember that just because you have a great personal or professional relationship with someone doesn’t mean others have not had bad experiences with that person or that they not been unreasonable or unprofessional
THIS COUNTS!! PLEASE DO IT!!!!!!!!! I'm doing the same thing with our local con right now
i dont think i have the constitution to organize something myself... the only thing i could think to do is email my local anime con like "CAN YOU GUYS DO A MANICHI PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PL 😭"
with more doujinshi events popping up here and there i sincerely encourage people of all skill levels to shoot an application to your local event if you want to make a doujinshi! you don't have to be good at art or writing or anything. you only have to be crazy. doujinshi is for everyone.
artist lifehack is that if you go to a restaurant during the dead hours of the day and ask if you can draw there along with buying some food they usually say yes. and also they come by and refill your water every so often so you don't have to get up and do it yourself (taps head)
new drawing place unlocked: pizza restaurant (i asked before i sat down)
I drew a cute monkey for YOU 🥺🐒 so you should apply 😁. It's cheap, and we want everyone who applies to get a table! Apps close Sunday! HURRY!!!!
one week left to apply. this is an excellent chance to try your hand at doujinshi - happening next to an established anime con (ALA) with a low, non-prohibitive table cost ($30), and rules around doujin-exclusivity! link: forms.gle/hhrb9Ffzs6bY1P… website: mmm.yaoi.city
also to anyone in US/CAN who has been waiting for ouj book restocks, i placed our restock order the other day! should be about a month before restocks are here

Hello thank you for your patience! I finally posted my summer Estinien x Ark doujinshi on my vgen shop along with wnb so you can get both digitally in the same place now!🔞📖 Graphic design is not my passion, sorry. vgen.co/gottaeateggs... #ffxiv #wolstinien #EstiArk
i'm legit almost angry at all the institutions that made people think their dream comic was unproduceable. Everything is produceable baby. The only limiter is how crazy you are
I put off drawing my doujinshi for years bc I was still enmeshed in the mindset that it would just get me in trouble for being unpublishable and dark, but working on it... has made me love comics all over again!!
I'll always remind people this is mostly a North American comics problem. other comic industries in the world credit artists as equal or starring collaborators, and if an artist leaves a project it usually means the project ends rather than being passed off to another, which is more the exception
Man, illustrators don't spend sometimes *years* of their life working on books to be seen as secondary creators 😞 Those are our ideas too. Our designs, layouts, input, expressions, character interactions. Comics can't exist without their artists.
it's my bday!!... if u have time to spare u shud read my comic... 🥹
