If you don’t like the responses you’re getting, don’t say the stupid trolling thing! If you want to say the stupid trolling thing, be prepared to get some spicy responses. It isn’t really that complicated.

“As Aydin jumps a scooter over ramps set up in the middle of the road, children around him are drawing with chalk, blowing bubbles and kicking a football in a spot where cars are usually driving through.” Good job Leeds. More children should have the chance to play in their neighbourhood like this.

Leeds: The city closing down streets so children can play

In Leeds, streets are being temporarily closed to traffic so kids have more space to safely play - an initiative proving beneficial to both children and adults.

I think it’s partly the British reserve but the reason we are in this mess is so called liberals won’t call people out. They won’t confront people about bigotry. They won’t spoil the dinner party or tell people what they really think. I choose my battles carefully but I’ve spent lifetime doing this.

Half the country officially in drought - the 3rd in 5 years. Fires raging across Europe. Battles being fought over AI data centres, New episode of *When Nature Becomes A Security Threat*,my podcast series for @therestpolitics.bsky.social, out now. It couldn’t be more timely. Pls do give a listen

I've got a souvenir tenugui towel from Kagoshima, bought mostly because it had a really cool design on it. I've just learned how to tie it into a hat like a Japanese chef, craftsman or Zoro in One Piece. I've failed to learn how to fold it up into a cat-eared big lady's hat.

It's almost inevitable that when people loudly say "There are legitimate questions!" that those questions have already been asked, and then comprehensively answered by actual experts.

My big disappointment with the aftermath of covid is that almost nobody gives a damn about preventing the next one. You're all out there working hard on making the next zoonotic catastrophe. Do you want apocalyptic bird flu? Because this is how you get apocalyptic bird flu.

I've got round to watching 'Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle', and the entire two and half hour film is just 2.5 boss-fights (plus mandatory villain backstory flashbacks) and that's it. Which is exactly what the target audience wanted. (98% on Rotten Tomatoes)
