This is an archive of an account used by the Rt Revd Dr John Armes while Bishop of Edinburgh (2012-2025) in the Scottish Episcopal Church (@scottishepiscopal.bsky.social).

Wonderful to be at St John's, Jedburgh, recently. I preached and celebrated, and met with members of St John’s and their sister congregation St Cuthbert’s, Hawick. Thanks to the Revd Andi Hofbauer and both congregations for the welcome and retirement well-wishes. Please do pray for them all.

G is for Gratitude. 💐 For Thy Kingdom Come 2025 we're looking at ways to pray, from A to Z! Many are from a booklet by two of our churches (tinyurl.com/mub3tpxc 📲). It suggests keeping a journal to 'help you recall specific blessings' and make you more thankful. Why not try it? 📓 📷 Marco Palumbo

Lovely to see our diocese's partnership with that of Espoo, Finland, continuing to flourish. I had the pleasure of joining a @lutheranworld.bsky.social/Anglican Communion summit in Jordan a few weeks ago, where Bishop Kaisamari and I planned for the future and shared key learnings with others.

I wish Pope Leo XIV well and will pray for him as he steps up to become both a church and international leader. May God sustain and guide him. I pray too for our brothers and sisters in the Roman Catholic Church, that under Pope Leo our two communions may grow into ever deeper unity and friendship.
