Norway's digital ID portal was also getting hit this past weekend, stopped for about half a day, then picked up again yesterday. It's apparently over now, but I doubt this is the last they'll see of such attacks.

Sometimes, when history feels far away, it's worth visiting the local historical sites and be reminded that you live in an area that has been inhabited, farmed and fought over since the late stone-age...

I'm sending a *physical* letter today - apparently you can't buy stamps, so I had to get an app that direct to a website that had me log in using my ID to buy a code to write on the envelope - not only cumbersome UX, but also a real issue of single point of failure when the ID system collapses.

They mention "signalfeil" (signal error) - the most common reason for delayed trains in Norway twice in the cinema ad for Vy - the Norwegian rail company - so I guess at least there's something to be said for honesty...

There's a lot of really good ideas presented in the article, for how we should be viewing these similar attacks. Additionally, the mistakes we keep making in our goals to prevent them, typically have the opposite effect. There definitely needs to be a change in how we handle these issues.

One of the groundbreaking parts of Minnesota’s new law is that it opens the door to lawsuits against the platforms (like X) that allow users to nudify images. For the most part, other regulations of online behavior have punished users, not platforms. This is one to watch.

Where were all the folks who suddenly (after protesting against Pride all summer) are so outraged about attacks on the LGBTQI+ community this week after the attack on Tepláreň in Bratislava in 2022? Does it at the end of the day matter more to them who the attacker is than who is being attacked?
