slay the princess is such an interesting game to me because it is completely opaque to many of the conventional frameworks for media analysis that we like applying to videogames nowadays. it simply cannot be understood on those terms in any truly meaningful way
This is a hell of a read and absolutely unnecessary to enjoy the game but absolutely fascinating from a design perspective.
