When Little Deer started years ago as a market stall, I had a rule where I’d only carry picture books by comic creators.

An indie comic book shop in Stoneybatter! D07 KC80 Bringing small press comics to Ireland since 2019! By Matt Melis, founder of DCAF, The Dublin Comic Arts Festival https://littledeercomics.ie
New Arrivals! Some very exciting books here (look at that Jillian Tamaki embroidered picture book!) Available in store and online littledeercomics.ie
Just putting it out there that @dublincomicarts.bsky.social hasn’t been able to secure a 2027 venue yet! It’s supposed to be our 10th anniversary year, so it would be nice if we weren’t forced to shutter due to lack of arts spaces in Dublin!
Subscriptions posted a bit late this month cause I was waiting on some specific books in this week’s boxes. Subscriptions are a great way to support the shop because the guaranteed income allows me to import more unique books!
I’m on day 2 of a killer migraine and I’ve a mountain of books to log and emails to send and bills to pay. I’m not saying the cure for what ails me is sales but the shop ticking over does remove one rather big stress factor! littledeercomics.ie
Restocks! Back tomorrow to log the new arrivals! littledeercomics.ie
Delivery Day! Logging restocks first and then new arrivals! Savvy customers who show up in person today and tomorrow can snatch up books before they even reach the webshop! littledeercomics.ie
Restocks from Spain! Pa-Luis’ lovely queer slice of life about art & friendship. Available in store and online! Deliveries due later so lots more to come! littledeercomics.ie
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
being in animation, its not from AI. the streaming bubble bursting cuz everyone hopped on the grain cuz it undermined unions, less regulations and more mergers are what lead to the loss. AI is just what people think but it started way before that
Joey Politano🏳️🌈@josephpolitano.bsky.social · 5d agoNEW from me: Over the last 4 years, America has lost more than 200k jobs in creative fields like publishing, film, TV, or graphic design. It's the worst stretch for arts jobs outside of recessions. How much is AI to blame? And can the arts' business model survive?🧵 www.apricitas.io/p/ai-and-the...

Today I was on foot around Dublin city bringing various places fliers & posters promoting the Kickstarter! A big thanks to: @littledeercomics.bsky.social Forbidden Planet Dublin Dublin City Comics The Civic Theatre Tallaght And of course the Isaac Butt Centre for printing! #fateks26
Lovely donuts from Dingle Donuts today during my (luxuriously long) lunch break! My family both cheered the arrival of donuts and mercilessly mocked how far I had to go to get them (not all the way to Dingle, only part way!)
Delivery day! Slice says I missed a customer while I was getting donuts. Priorities! Will open this box and start logging shortly littledeercomics.ie
Sophie Carroll-Hunt is an illustrator, comic creator and printmaker. She combines digital and traditional printmaking techniques in her artwork and zines, which are defined by bold lines, bright colours and the use of text within her work.
No in person customers this morning so I’m closing up and going to find Dingle Donuts at Irish Village Markets because I’d rather have no customers and donuts than just no customers. My webshop isn’t subject to the whims of my nonsense littledeercomics.ie
A recommendation! It's the 50th anniversary of the first release of Adele Blanc-sec and sadly we've had very few English releases over those years. In this release are the first 4 albums of hopefully a complete collection further down the line and a must have for any classic comics shelf.
Open again 3-7, with your half shift @detectiveken.bsky.social taking you to the evening. Come on down or get online at littledeercomics.ie
Measuring and re-measuring and measuring again for good measure I’ll be building the New Little Deer shelves myself once I’m certain of everything (I built our Local Comic Creators section) You can help by buying comics! Because 12+m of shelving is going to cost a pretty penny! littledeercomics.ie
I’m just a baby webcomic creator myself but G.A.Y. has been going for 9 months on webtoon, tapas and comic fury and the difference is stark. If views is the game you want to play by comic fury is leagues ahead.
