I would also add that etiquette goes a long way. I've been a part of when a misunderstanding happens and folks go from from 0 to 100 when they only needed to go up to about 15 and now everyone is alienated instead of arriving at an understanding where the mistake was made.

Instead of trying to get bigots to come to the side of reason, you should really get every day people who are misunderstanding shit and could use a helping hand but would like to be in community with folks and just don’t know how to, which is a much larger group.
